In the year the notion of the personal organizer originates in the US when Canadian engineer, J.C. Parker, invents a system to substitute technical handbooks which were quite large to carry. Then in 1921, Norman & Hill Ltd was founded by William Rounce and partner Posseen Hill to export Lefax organizers to England. Provisional typist Grace Scurr stated that the organizers shall be named 'Filofax' - derived from the term 'file-of-facts'. The trademark was copyrighted on 27th of November, 1930. Later Husband and wife David and Leslie Collischon founded a company named Pocketfax in the UK to deal in Filofax organizers direct to consumers in the UK through mail order. They become Norman & Hill’s biggest customers. Afterwards The Collischons acquired Normal & Hill Ltd, rename the company Filofax and a new collection of organizers is introduced. Filofax opens their new head office at Waverley House, 7-12 Noel Street, London.
